FKG Dentaire has introduced the 4D Workflow, a fully integrated system designed to simplify root canal procedures by combining shaping, equipment, irrigation and obturation into a single process. The system aims to help clinicians achieve anatomically predictable results more quickly and with greater confidence.

Components of the 4D Workflow

The 4D Workflow consists of four key components. The XP-4D shaping system adapts to natural root canal anatomy while minimising stress on dentin and instruments. It uses a multi-phase heat treatment to ensure flexibility and cutting efficiency, with matching XP-4D Bio Gutta-Percha Cones and Absorbent Paper Points for the obturation phase. The Rooter X4000 endodontic motor is a cordless, brushless device capable of up to 4,000 rpm, featuring a large touchscreen interface, one-touch presets and an integrated apex locator. Dual Rinse HEDP irrigation combines chelation and disinfection in a single solution, reducing procedural time and instrument stress. The TotalFill Bioceramic Sealer is a pre-mixed, single-cone obturation technique validated by more than 120 independent studies, offering a biocompatible seal with minimal handling.

Design and clinical application

The 4D Workflow is designed for versatility and ease of use, adapting to both straightforward and complex anatomies. Its intuitive design requires minimal training, making it accessible to clinicians of varying experience levels. All four components work together to reduce handling steps and support predictable outcomes in endodontic care. FKG Dentaire, based in Switzerland's microtech valley, has produced endodontic instruments since 1931. The Rooter X4000 motor includes regular software updates to maintain compatibility with future FKG systems.
