About Regulation

Regulation shapes what dentists can charge, which devices they can use, and how patient data must be stored. In the Netherlands, the NZa sets tariffs and the IGJ oversees care quality. European rules (the MDR for medical devices, GDPR for patient data) apply on top of national law.

The Council of European Dentists tracks EU Commission policy that touches dentistry: cross-border care, professional recognition, and EU-wide quality standards. Changes at that level filter down into daily practice decisions.

This page collects news on tariffs, compliance requirements, regulatory decisions, and policy developments relevant to dental practices across Europe.
