Two private training institutes in the Netherlands have received the ABC Mondzorgassistenten quality mark, the first to be certified under this sector-recognised scheme. The mark was developed to give students confidence that their training meets industry standards, and to give employers a verifiable way to assess whether a newly hired dental assistant is competent. Edin and Dental Best Practice are now certified for all three qualification levels: Tandartsassistent (A), Preventieassistent (B), and Paro-preventieassistent (C). Academie Tandartsenpraktijk became part of Dental Best Practice on 1 January 2026 and is included in that certification. Graduates from these institutes can register in the Register Mondzorgassistenten, a public register of qualified dental assistants.
