The Bulgarian Association of Dental Technicians (BAZ) adopted statutory amendments at its Third Regular Congress on 30 November 2025 in Sofia, establishing a national electronic professional register for dental technicians. The decision was unanimous. Registration in the system is now linked to the right to practise, giving the register a formal gatekeeping role in the profession. Both a national register and regional registers are included under the new framework, with defined rules covering registration, administration, and oversight. Since the Congress, BAZ has moved to implement the system. The online register is now accessible and shows regional colleges and registered dental technicians. Where data is available, individual entries include continuing professional education (CPE) activity, registration details, and professional status. For dental professionals working with dental technicians in Bulgaria, the register provides a practical tool for verifying registration and professional standing. The development brings Bulgaria in line with other European countries that use structured professional registers to support quality assurance and accountability in dental technology.
